CUSTOMER-DRIVEN B2B SaaS

BQmenu

An actual hotel request became a reusable product for publishing banquet menus.

ORIGIN

Started from an actual hotel request

A hotel approached Nortelia with an operational problem. Its request was the starting point for BQmenu: understanding how banquet menus were handled and turning those needs into a practical software product.

The problem

For each banquet, staff had to print, sort, place, and collect paper menus. Multiple venues and events also meant keeping track of which menu belonged in which room and at what time.

From request to product

Nortelia organised the requirements around the workflow shared by hotel banquet operations. We designed BQmenu as a reusable B2B SaaS that other hotels could adopt. The product focuses on publishing hotel-prepared menus according to venue and time, with accounts and data separated by hotel.

What Nortelia built

Requirements and product design

Turned the hotel’s operational needs into a defined scope, publishing rules, and product specifications.

Application development

Built banquet registration, venue QR links, schedule checks, and time-based menu publishing, with separate accounts and data for each hotel.

Product landing page

Created the product site to explain the value, workflow, pricing, scope, and enquiry route.

Sales and operational materials

Prepared sales and partner materials, FAQs, and operational guides, keeping them consistent with the product requirements.

How it works

  1. Hotel staff register a completed menu PDF, the venue, and the event time. The hotel prepares the PDF and is responsible for its content.
  2. Each venue has a fixed QR code. The same venue code can be used across banquets, with the displayed menu determined by the venue and schedule.
  3. Guests scan the code to view the menu in their smartphone browser, without an app or account. The display changes to an end screen after the banquet.

Registration checks flag overlapping time slots in the same venue.
